The star-studded cast of Disney's “Into the Woods” takes to song in the latest trailer for the Christmas release. Meryl Streep creates a stark contrast with a lovely voice emerging from her rather ugly Witch-guise, while the trailer is littered with stars from Johnny Depp to Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, a delightfully buffoonish Chris Pine and James Corden.

The film, which is based on the Broadway musical by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, is a mash-up of several classic fairy tales, including Red Riding Hood, Cindrella, Rapunzel, and Jack and the Beanstalk.
Streep stars as the Witch, who plays a role in so many fairy tales, while upcoming “Late Late Show” host Corden stars alongside Blunt as the Baker and his wife. Childless as the result of a curse, they set off on a quest into the titular woods to find a way to break said curse.

Their journey, and the objects they seek, bring them in touch with several of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales. They run into Kendrick's Cindrella and her not-so-charming prince, played by Pine. Lilla Crawford portrays Little Red Riding Hood, trying to survive Depp's Big Bad Wolf, while Mackenzie Mauzy takes on Rapunzel and Daniel Huttlestone is Jack.
Other cast-members in the Rob Marshall film, which was adapted by Lapine, include Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski, Billy Magnussen, Annette Crosbie, Simon Russell Beale, Joanna Riding, Kader Khan, Richard Glover, and Frances de la Tour as the Giant.
