Iconic race will celebrate 19th amendment with proceeds slated to support National Women’s Hall of Fame

Seneca Falls, New York (PRWEB) March 17, 2016

Generations Bank, organizing sponsor of the first ever Women’s Right to Run, today unveiled an unprecedented invitation list of international “power women” who are being encouraged to attend the upcoming Women’s Right to Run 19K/5K in historic Seneca Falls—birthplace of the women’s rights movement.

The Women’s Right to Run 19K/5K celebrates the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. Seneca Falls was the site of the first Women’s Rights Convention in 1848. This fitting tribute race will benefit the National Women’s Hall of Fame’s capital campaign, which is raising funds to rehabilitate the former Seneca Falls Knitting Mill into its future home, The Center for Great Women.

Leading the marquee invite list is First Lady Michelle Obama, the Hon. Hillary Clinton and Ms. Oprah Winfrey. An additional 50+ high powered female leaders, CEOs, actresses, athletes and advocates are also being invited. Special guests may participate in the race through running, walking or as an honorary starter.

“As we join together to celebrate female empowerment and how far we’ve come since the 19th amendment was signed, we’re extending the invitation to many of the women who continue to fight for progress and serve as an inspiration to all,” said Katie MacIntyre, AVP – Marketing Officer, Generations Bank. “The race for equal rights is never really over, but we continue to make great strides and these women are shining examples of that effort.”
