When news of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce went public, one of the first things people on the internet did was look to Jennifer Aniston.
In case you somehow forgot, Aniston and Pitt were married for about five years before they officially divorced in October 2005. A few months later, Pitt made his relationship with Jolie official, and ever since, the tabloids have been obsessed with painting Aniston as heartbroken and/or alone.
There are tons of reasons why Aniston probably doesn’t care about Brangelina’s split (here are nine of them). And at this point, it’s unnecessary to even think the former “Friends” star is spending her time dwelling on the past.
Just ask her friend, Chelsea Handler.
In a new interview with Grazia, the comedian, who called Jolie a “a f**king lunatic” following the split, said it’s “stupid and pathetic” to even involve Aniston in her ex’s divorce drama.
“As if Jen cares – she doesn’t care. It’s ridiculous that people still drag her into this,” Handler said. “Hello, as if she is sitting around even caring about this.”
Handler also addressed the essay Aniston penned for The Huffington Post earlier this year titled “For The Record,” in which she slammed the media.
“It was just so nice for her to finally respond to it,” Handler said. “It doesn’t matter how famous or rich or wealthy you are, you’re still able to get your feelings hurt. That is a person, that’s a human being that is constantly being scrutinized. I hope it helped people see the pain that it is causing with the presumption and the obsessions and the nonsense.”
