Hide your tombs, everybody. Alicia Vikander is about to raid them.
The actress already has an Oscar for her performance in “The Danish Girl,” so she’ll be after different, more ancient hardware in the upcoming “Tomb Raider” film.
News that Vikander would replace Angelina Jolie as the protagonist in the franchise surfaced last year, and now we finally have a look at her in action.

There she is, peeps. Even Angelina is excited.
”Tomb Raider” will be the third movie adaptation of the video game franchise, reportedly following the same timeline as the “current video game reboot.”
As stated by Walton Goggins, the actor playing the villainous Father Mathias Vogel, “It’s so good.”
“For me, it’s like ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ meets a genre version of the Joseph Conrad novel Victory: An Island Tale,” Goggins told Yahoo.
If “Tomb Raider” is our new “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” that makes Vikander our new Indiana Jones.
The new “Tomb Raider” is expected to hit theaters in 2018.
