
The actress let the news slip in an interview with the New Yorker when a mockup of a Goop newsletter was presented with the CEO title next to Paltrow’s name.

“I mean, the board did make me CEO,” Paltrow said. “It wasn’t my fault. It wasn’t my decision.”
Paltrow's predecesor was Lisa Gersh, who was also the former chief executive of Martha Stewart Omnimedia. Gersh left the the company last year.
Paltrow originally launched Goop in 2008 as a weekly newsletter, but in the nine years since it has grown into a full-on lifestyle brand with relationship advice, recipes and $60 (£48) T-shirts and all.
Goop has also recently expanded its brand to include a line of vitamins with quirky names like Why Am I So Effing Tired, High School Genes, Balls in the Air and the Mother Load.

The pills are for sale on Goop’s website at $90 (£72) for a month’s supply or $240 (£192) for three months.
Last year the firm raised $15m (£12m) in venture capital and moves its headquarters to Los Angeles, from New York.
